The majority of service provision through the PHO is done through their contracted provider network of General Practice providers. In NZ General Practice will generally be your first point of contact with the health system. General Practice Teams will include General Practitioners and Practice Nurses and sometimes other health professionals working together to improve, maintain, restore and/or co-ordinate people's health care. General Practice Teams focus on patient needs and enhancing a network among local communities, other health and non-health agencies.
